Garret Virchick and James Higgins

Garret Virchick worked for 30 years in the Boston Public Schools. Active in the Boston Teachers Union, he served multiple terms on the union’s Executive Board, running as a member of the social justice caucus BTU For All. While serving as editor of the Boston “Union Teacher” newspaper he won multiple awards for his writing from the American Federation of Teachers Communicators Network. Currently he is retired from teaching, but active in the International Work Team of Liberation Road.
In the 1960s James Higgins worked for two years for the NSA as a radio intercept analyst, and for two more years as a photo interpreter in the U.S. Air Force. He’s lived in China for a number of years and has visited many of its cities over a 20-year period. He currently is active in the International Work Team of Liberation Road.
