Loretta J. Ross is a visiting professor at Smith College. In the course of her decades of activism, Loretta became one of the first African American women to direct a rape crisis center; served as the program/research coordinator at the Center For Democratic Renewal (National Anti-Klan Network) and the national coordinator for the SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Justice Network. She has co-written three books on reproductive justice: Undivided Rights: Women of Color Organize for Reproductive Justice (with Jael Silliman, Marlene Gerber Fried, and Elena Gutiérrez, South End Press, 2004); Reproductive Justice: An Introduction (with Rickie Solinger, University of California Press, 2017); and Radical Reproductive Justice: Foundations, Theory, Practice, Critique (ed. with Lynn Roberts, Erika Derkas, Whitney Peoples and Pamela Bridgewater Toure, Feminist Press, 2017).
