Mariana Ruiz Firmat
Mariana Ruiz Firmat brings 20 years of experience in organizing to build power for immigration reform, election rights, and tech accountability to her work as the Executive Director of Kairos Action. Mariana’s approach is informed by their previous organizing experiences in the fight for racial justice—from working with Latinx women farmworkers in California, to leading legislative, policy, and political campaigns at MoveOn.org. This history inspires Mariana to lead the organization’s strategy to combat the rise of misinformation targeting marginalized communities—critical work that exposes the inequity of technology and its infrastructure. Mariana is a 2020 Harvard Ash Tech and Democracy Fellowship alum and serves on the board of the Cooperative Impact Lab.
