The Anti-Authoritarian Podcast is here to help anyone concerned about creeping authoritarianism and fascism in the US and beyond to confront strategy questions that will strengthen their work to advance multiracial democracy and stop the rise of authoritarianism. Our core message is: We can block authoritarianism, bridge across lines of differences, and build an inclusive multiracial democracy–if we act more strategically. The show features provocative and valuable conversations with hosts Scot Nakagawa and Sue Hyde and their guests.

About the Host

Scot Nakagawa

Scot Nakagawa is a co-founder and co-director of the 22nd Century Initiative, a national strategy and action hub in the fight to defeat white nationalism and authoritarianism. Scot is also the founder of The Anti-Authoritarian Playbook, an online newsletter to the frontline of the growing movement to win a truly people-centered, pluralistic, multiracial and feminist democracy in the U.S.

Sue Hyde
Sue Hyde is the Deputy Director of the 22nd Century Initiative and co-host of the Anti-Authoritarian Podcast. From 1994 to 2018, Sue directed the annual Creating Change Conference, a project of the National LGBTQ Task Force. She and the late Urvashi Vaid founded the Creating Change Conference in 1988. Sue believes fervently that a vibrant pro-democracy movement can and will build a feminist and multi-racial democracy in the United States.
