Convergence Magazine understands that online privacy is a big deal for our readers and contributors. We use the best tools available to safeguard your contact information, and the statements below describe the ways we collect your information and how we use that information.
Anonymous Data Collection
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymous data about how visitors use our website. This helps us improve our services and provide a better user experience. The data collected is not personally identifiable, and includes information such as pages visits, referring sources, and browser types.
Purpose of Data Collection
The anonymous data collected through GA4 is used to analyze website traffic and user behavior, identify reading trends and improve website content and performance, and develop new features and enhance existing ones.
Data Sharing
We do not share anonymous data collected through GA4 with third parties, except as required by law or for the purposes of website analytics, development, and performance improvement. We don’t engage with or share data with any third-party advertisers or ad networks.

Your Personal Information
Convergence Magazine may request your personal information to provide you with answers to your inquiries, subscriptions to our digital newsletters, and other services in pursuit of our mission and purpose.
Such personal information we collect may include:

Additionally, Convergence Magazine may request your personal information as part of the process of considering a submission or application, editing your work, and publishing your ideas on our website. We use this information to provide our readers with accurate information about the authors of works we publish and keep in touch with contributors.
Such personal information we collect for this purpose may additionally include:
- Biographical details
- Photographs or other images
- Links to your website(s) and/or social media account(s)
Convergence Magazine does not rent or sell the personal information provided by our readers and members with other entities. We may store some information you provide to us with third-party vendors that help us do our work.
email newsletters
Convergence Magazine produces several email newsletters that you are invited to subscribe to to keep up with the latest from the magazine and our podcast network. Emails will always include an unsubscribe link so you can opt-out at any time. If you subscribed to our newsletters before 12/17/2025, your contact information may also be stored by our previous email provider, Action Network. You can find their privacy policies here.
MEMBERSHIPS & donations
Convergence Magazine collects contact information from members and donors. Names of members and donors may be used to publicly acknowledge their support; at the time of their transaction, members/donors may choose to remain anonymous and forgo public acknowledgement. Members/donors will be subscribed to our general newsletter as well as a monthly donor update.
Transactions are processed by secure enterprise-quality payment processing services and Convergence Magazine does not see or retain personal financial information such as credit card or bank account numbers.
Events
Convergence Magazine may collect RSVPs for events that we produce online or offline, alone or with partners. When you RSVP to an event, you provide us with contact information to remind you about the event’s start date and time and/or provide you with a calendar invite or ticket. RSVPing for an event also subscribes you to our general newsletter.
When producing events in partnership with other organizations, we will always be clear about whether personal information from your RSVPs will be shared with those partners when you RSVP, and give you the choice about whether or not we share your information with such partners.
Updating Your Data
To unsubscribe from our mailing lists, find a recent email and use the unsubscribe link in the footer. If you can’t find one, you can always request a unique link to unsubscribe here.
Contributor Information
We use a project management system to collect and process submissions and information about our contributors. Information from these forms is stored both on our servers and on the servers of our enterprise project management software. We use this information to review, assign, and manage tasks related to your submission. We also will use such information to correspond with you about your submission(s), and hope that your submission is part of an ongoing relationship with you.
Information you provide to us that is intended to be made public as part of an article, podcast episode, or other piece of content is clearly marked in the relevant forms. If you would like to update or change information we share about you as a contributor, you may re-submit the contributor form at any time. For other requests related to your contributor information or published article or episode, we recommend getting in touch with your editor first.
If you would like information you have sent via our submission system or contributor form deleted from our systems, both managed by Convergence Magazine and by our project management software, please send an email to [email protected] to request removal.
Data Retention
In general, we retain basic contact information for readers and members as long as is necessary to fulfill our purpose in collecting your data and to satisfy legal, accounting, and reporting requirements that may apply to us. After the applicable retention period, we may anonymize or delete your information.
Right To Be Forgotten
You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data from our systems. If you wish to exercise this right, please contact us with your request. Upon verification, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except for data we are required to retain for legal or contractual obligations. We take seriously your right to privacy and use many accepted best practices in securing the personal information you share with us. We routinely review our administrative, technical, physical, and organizational security controls to ensure we are maintaining appropriate measures to keep your information secure.
Of course, we can’t guarantee absolute security, and no transmission of information is ever 100% secure. Should we experience an event that compromises the security of your personal information, we will contact you to inform you of the event, what data was compromised, and what next steps we are taking, if any.
