Bryan Mercer

Bryan Mercer is Executive Director of Movement Alliance Project, where he works to build a healthy movement ecosystem where organizations succeed in making transformational social change. Since joining the staff of MAP in 2009 Bryan has led a number of projects to connect and amplify the work of community organizations, develop community leaders, and build infrastructure to advance economic and racial justice. Bryan currently serves on the advisory boards for The Organizing Center to support training and capacity building of community organizers, and the People’s Media Record to support documentation and preservation of community produced media. Bryan is a former national coordinating committee member of LeftRoots and also serves on the board of Free Press. Bryan received his bachelor’s degree from Columbia University in Anthropology with a concentration in Comparative Ethnic Studies. Born and raised in Philadelphia he now calls Southwest Philly home with his partner and child.
