Mary Jirmanus Saba is a filmmaker and feminist geographer. Her work undertakes a feminist political ecology of labor and agrarian movements in the Middle East and Latin America and the militant cinema of both regions. She holds a PhD in Geography from the University of California, Berkeley and is a UC Presidential Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, Santa Cruz and a member of UAW Labor for Palestine and the People’s CDC. Her films include Essential Work (2020), a collaboration with Paul Abowd, Adrienne Williams, and Workers Collective for The Intercept.
